I have a 1944 wheat penny that sticks to a magnet can anyone tell me were I can take it to find out if it is a real steel 1944
Hello, Tanya --

If your 1944 Lincoln cent sticks to a magnet, the next step in verifying its authenticity is to weigh the coin. If it comes in around 2.5 grams it may be a genuine steel cent, but there would still need to be a series of diagnostic runs performed on the appearance of the date itself. This would entail a third-party certification service that would inspect details of the date under 10x magnification.

I hope this helps,
Josh
