question i have some morgan and peace silver dollors some are shiney and look great some of my morgon are a olive green color but have great markings does it help or hurt the value of the morgans thanks keven
Hi, Keven --

The answer depends on the coin; a coin's "shininess" doesn't necessarily increase its value (and it severely hurts the value if it's because the coin was cleaned), and color (patina, or toning) usually helps the value. But whether or not that helps or hurt your coin depends on how it appears on your coin. If you don't mind posting a photo I'd be glad to further assist.

Hi, Keven --

These are nice, circulated Morgan dollars -- they're really quite beautiful as they are. Here are links that could help you concerning their values:

1879 - https://coinvalues.com/morgan-silver-dollar/1879
1889 - https://coinvalues.com/morgan-silver-dollar/1889
1891 - https://coinvalues.com/morgan-silver-dollar/1891
1921 - https://coinvalues.com/morgan-silver-dollar/1921

Good luck!

Hi, Keven --

It all depends on the dates and condition of the coins. I urge you to check each of the dates and mintmarks on your silver dollars and compare those against the listings here at CoinValues, looking for the more valuable issues.

Morgan dollars: https://coinvalues.com/morgan-silver-dollar
Peace dollars: https://coinvalues.com/peace-dollar

As you do this, bear in mind that it costs between $20 and $35 per coin (sometimes more) to get them certified -- meanwhile, common-date circulated Morgan and Peace dollars are presently worth around $17 to $20 each... I suggest only certifying those that are worth at least $75 to $100 or more each, including rare regular-issues, higher-grade material, and special or unusual varieties.

Good luck,
Josh
