Hello, Jon --
Assuming your 1943 cent weighs 3.11 grams and has the distinctive, long-tailed "3" in the date exactly as seen on 1943 steel cents, there are two ways to consider getting your coin authenticated:
1. Visit a reputable coin shop in the Greater Orlando area; here is a searchable list of good coin dealers: https://png.memberclicks.net/find-a-png-dealer
2. Submit your coin to a reputable third-party coin grading firm such as PCGS, NGC, ANACS, ICG, or SEGS; here's more info: http://www.coinvalues.com/library/coin-slabbing-services
Good luck! Please let us know what your findings are!
