Does an accident to a coin done at where it is proofed do anything to its value? I have a proof 1991 silver eagle with what looks to be a very straight scratch across it diagonally. It could have been done in the pressing of the coin, but I don't really know. What I do know is that it came that way from wherever they put it in the proofing plastic. It was purchased by my dad and it has never been out of the proof case.
