Joshua, I have a 1942 wheat penny that is circulated and weighs 3.30 grams. The thickness when compared to another 1942 wheat penny is the same. Although, the other 1942 penny weighs 3.07 grams. I'm thinking it probably weighs a tad bit more...

A 1942 Lincoln cent should weigh about 3.11 grams. While there are slight variances to the tolerated weight, 3.30 grams sounds pretty high. I wonder if your coin has a coating of some kind on it, such as epoxy or another material. Does your coin appear different from others?

If you wouldn't mind posting a photo of this coin here I'd be glad to take a look.

      Best wishes,
      Josh

Sorry I've waited so long to get you some pictures. I've on other forums trying to find the right answer to my question. In fact, instead of retaking more pictures I will send you a link that I uploaded my coin on. This way you can see other folks opinions and the picture themselves. Thank you for you time Joshua! I have been researching this for a while and the only thing I can come with it a coin that weighed 4.1 grams that was struck on a thicker slab. Again, thank you for your time Joshua.
