The "S" mintmark was not being used in 1959 and also there is no listing for such a piece on any variety database. The notch under the topHi, Joel
The "S" mintmark was not being used in 1959 and also there is no listing for such a piece on any variety database. The notch under the top of the "D" looks more like a die chip than a mintmark, especially given the shape of the anomaly and its placement.
Die chips may add a nominal amount of additional value to a coin, depending on the severity of the chip, location of the chip, and demand for said issue. Your piece is worth perhaps $10 to $12.
