Missy Harkey-Galaway commented on this post about 6 years agoHi. I have a few 1969 d half dollars, one appear a bit different than the others, the O in Dollar has a "thicker" area at the top of the O than any other I have, it is not grime or dirt or anything, the photos make it appear "dirty", but looking at it in person the "thicker" part is a part of the O . Any information available? Thank you so much!

I'm trying to blow up the photo, and I do see what appears to be a die break in the "O" of "HALF DOLLAR." If that's what this is, this piece could bring a few dollars or more, depending on the desirability as judged by variety/error collectors; something like this, which is unusual, doesn't necessarily have a stock book value, per se.
I suggest sending these photos to the variety experts at CONECA for possible official attribution. Here's their info: http://varietyvista.com/index.htm
Best wishes!
